Membership
- Member Services: Low-cost CLE, mailing service for firm announcements, Appellate Depository, annual Judicial Poll, disability insurance, long term care insurance and reduced cost cards for Universal Studios are available for members. We also sponsor "Members Only" for discounted office supplies.
- Networking: Through participation in monthly General Membership Meetings/Luncheons; CLE programs and social events, members are acquainted with our Judges and other members of the association. Members are also frequently invited to participate in programs with other local bar associations and groups related to the practice of law.
- Continuing Legal Education: Approximately 40 CLE programs are held each year. DCBA maintains an audio library of CLE tapes available for purchase. We also have an exchange program with the Orange County and Palm Beach bars which triples our CLER tape inventory.
- The Bulletin is the official newspaper of the Dade County Bar Association and is published monthly. On the first Thursday of each month, the Bulletin is published in the Daily Business Review. Members receive a copy by mail.
The Bulletin contains messages from the President of DCBA and the Young Lawyers Section, a Calendar of Events, notices of special events and programs, trial and practice article and profiles of judges and other legal officers. - Public Information: DCBA Staff refers an average of 50 calls per day to Legal Aid, Legal Services, Broward Bar Lawyer Referral Service and other government agencies. We also provide copies of Judicial Polls.
- Appellate Filing Box: Located in the Dade County Courthouse and available to subscribers for after hours filings for Third District Court of Appeal.
- DCBA Building: The Association owns the four-story building at 123 N. W. First Avenue. DCBA headquarters occupy the second floor of the building. The Legal Aid Society and DCBA pro bono programs occupy the first and third floors. The fourth floor is still vacant. The building was constructed in 1967 and paid for with member contributions and a mortgage which was retired in 1986.
- Appellate Court Coffee Service: Free coffee provided by DCBA at Third District Court.
- Staff: Four Full-time DCBA staff and approximately 60 Legal Aid and "Put Something Back" employees
