The Dade County Bar Association (DCBA) is a local voluntary bar association of lawyers with approximately 4,500 members. The association was founded in the early 1900's and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1920. Over the course of the century, the bar has established and run committees and organizations designed to foster growth of the practice, enhance legal education, mentor young lawyers, and provide assistance and legal guidance for members of the public.

The association is governed by elected Officers and Board of Directors. None of the officers or directors are paid. Lawyers are not required to be members of DCBA in order to practice law in Florida or Dade County. All DCBA members under 36 years of age are automatically members of the Young Lawyers Section and pay no additional dues.

We operate on a fiscal year, beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
