COURTS:

Subcommittees work directly with the various courts on procedural changes and special projects and may propose new legislation or rules changes.   Most committees obtain CLE credit for their monthly meetings. 
 

ADMINISTRATIVE LAW AND GOVERNMENT RELATION:
This is a new committee serving the needs of both private and public sector attorneys representing, and/or practicing before state, county and local governments and agencies. Will hosts several CLE events throughout the year as well as the annual Local Government Attorney Reception.


BANKRUPTCY LAW:
This committee provides attorneys practicing in this area worthwhile meetings, educational seminars and networking opportunities.  


BULLETIN:
This is one of our most important Committees - the Bulletin is our primary way to communicate with members.  Serve as Editors, write, obtain, and edit articles, and coordinate layout and publication.   


BUSINESS LAW: 
This committee is for members interested in business law, including financial services, securities, banking, and general corporate law practice areas, and will be offering educational seminars, discussion forums and networking opportunities.


BUSINESS OUTREACH:
This committee hosts informal networking events with non-law related professional groups to further DCBA’s legal outreach and networking.


CONSTRUCTION LAW:
This is an interesting, well organized, and active committee.  Educational meetings, generally with guest speakers and CLE credit. 
 


ENVIRONMENTAL & LAND USE:
Exceptionally interesting meetings and seminars on the latest issues affecting South Florida in this practice area.


FLORIDA REGISTERED PARALEGAL:
This new committee provides FRP members with networking, education and participation opportunities in the Association.


IMMIGRATION LAW:
This committee provides attorneys practicing in this area worthwhile meetings, educational seminars and networking opportunities. 
 


INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: 
This committee hosts informative educational seminars and networking events for the sharing of information in the practice area of IP.  


INTERNATIONAL LAW: 
 Lawyers interested in the international aspects of practice in our diverse community should join. 
 


LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LAW: 
This committee will provide networking and educational programs in this practice area including those with local, state, national and International clients. 
 


LEGAL AID & OFFICE OF PUBLIC SERVICE: 
Proposes policy and programs to Board of Directors for Legal Aid Society and "Put Something Back" Volunteer Lawyer Programs.  A most worthwhile committee. 
 


LUNCHEONS & MEETINGS: 
Propose and obtain speakers for general membership meetings.  This is one of the MOST IMPORTANT committees.  If you have an interest in a high profile program, bring your ideas and enthusiasm. 
 


MEMBERSHIP & MEMBER SERVICES: 
Coordinate membership recruitment and propose new services for members. 
 


PROFESSIONALISM:
Is the watchword for our profession.  Our Supreme Court has earmarked professionalism as a top priority.  This committee works to raise the standards of practice and fair dealing. 
 


REAL PROPERTY:
One of our most productive committees.  The regular meetings attract practitioners of all fields because of the provocative and entertaining speakers. 
 


SCHOOL PROGRAMS:
Extremely important committee which coordinates and conducts award winning programs in public and private schools. 
 


SECURITY LITIGATION:
Addresses all facets of securities litigation, including shareholder litigation, investor fraud and broker-dealer arbitration, SEC and self-regulatory enforcement actions, and criminal securities matters.  The Committee serves as a forum where securities litigation practitioners can meet, socialize, network and share ideas.
