The City of Miami Police are again investigating a swastika that was drawn on the Dade County Bar Association building.

On the afternoon of Thursday, February 27, 2020, Judge David Young and Judge Zachary James discovered the swastika, which was drawn on the front of the DCBA building. Association officials are condemning the vandalism. President Gilbert K. Squires has zero tolerance for such criminal acts, which go counter to the Association’s fundamental values. “That hateful action hurts me not only because I am Jewish, but it also hurts me because I am an American and it hurts our members; it hurts and offends us all." The deeply cruel and offensive symbol has since been removed.

The community can make a difference in the fight against hate-crimes. The Dade County Bar Association encourages anyone who may have witnessed the defacement of the building to provide tips that will help law enforcement authorities to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

Anyone who is targeted or is a witness to a hate crime can report the incident online through the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) incident portal.
